Urbanization is a mix of problems and prospects The development process has resulted in rapid growth of population followed by unwarranted growth of the cities in view of immigration of rural poor to cities and towns. Environmental degradation due to cutting of trees in the name of modernization and increasing density of population have made cities problematic areas in the State. The main problems of urbanization are related with industrialization, pollution, slums, heavy traffic, scanty urban facilities, inefficient management of civic services and poverty. The gap between the rich and the poor and exploitation of the poor is also an adverse effect of development. The problems of urbanization are mostly related with inefficient urban bodies and lack of cooperation of the city people to associate with the civic bodies. This can be made possible with skilled development of urban bodies with placement of dedicated persons to handle the situation in an efficient manner. This book will be use full document for the  teacher, researchers, policymakers, planners, administrators, and students who are directly or indirectly concerned with Urban Development.
